Sports Camps

Sport Camps at the Gurnee Park District focus on basketball, softball, soccer, volleyball. Camps are offered for both boys and girls and you can select the sport you want to focus on! Campers will increase their knowledge and learn the basic skills of team sports, while improving their stamina and endurance. Sport Camps also stress the importance of giving 100% of the campers effort, fair play, and sportsmanship. Campers will have the opportunity to play games once the skills have been learned. Our staff brings a high level of athletic ability, knowledge and enthusiasm to the camp. Campers should be prepared to be physically active every day. Safety and a secure environment are top priorities, as well as encouraging each individual camper's unique abilities.

Teen Explorer Camp

Have fun this summer by getting involved in a variety of activities such as swimming, sports, games and many other outdoor activities. Campers will swim weekly at Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center, have other aquatic opportunities throughout the summer and will go on 2 field trips per week. Lunch will be provided once a week. Campers should enjoy the outdoors and work well with others. Campers are also invited to participate in an overnight stay.


Junior Counselor Camp

Learn to be a camp counselor while you are attending camp. You'll learn CPR and First Aid, problem solving, assisting with special events, and engaging younger children in fun and safe activities. Junior Counselors must work well with others, be a good role model and enjoy the outdoors. Camp includes field trips along with swimming at the Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center and other aquatic opportunities. This camp is for District #121 residents only.


Outdoor Survivor Camp

Take a walk on the wild side! Campers will learn hiking skills, fishing techniques, canoeing, rock climbing, biking, fire safety, outdoor cooking, nature related crafts, knots and necessary outdoor camping survival skills. A field trip, bike ride, swimming and an overnight camp-out utilize the skills learned through out the 3 week camp.
