This past Saturday, the sun was shining on another special milestone at GPD – the official ribbon cutting and renaming celebration of our newest playground, Jim Goshorn Park. ☀️

Nearly 200 community members joined us to explore the new playground, celebrate the dedication and hard work behind this incredible space, and honor the lasting impact of our late Board President, Jim Goshorn.

“What a wonderful event to be able to celebrate such an amazing park in honor of such an inspirational man with so many neighbors and community members,” shared Gurnee Park District Executive Director, Mike Szpylman.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this meaningful day with us, including our amazing Parks Team and Board Members, Senator Adriane Johnson, State Representative Joyce Mason, Lake County Board Chair Sandy Hart, Village of Gurnee Mayor Tom Hood, and Mike Maloney and the team from Play Illinois. A special shout out to our friends from Perfect Turf for their donation of Kona Ice for our guests! 💙

What a spectacular finale to another amazing dance season! 🩰🎭

Thank you to our incredibly talented dancers, spirited actors, dedicated instructors, and supportive families who joined us this past weekend for our end-of-season recital, "The Time Machine". This unforgettable production featured 40 dance routines and 12 theatre skits!

The hard work, passion, and dedication shown throughout the season were truly evident on stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.
