Add Yoga to Your Flow!
Did you recently suffer from an injury that is limiting your ability to stay active? Perhaps you are experiencing pain that is restricting your mobility? Or, maybe you are new to exercise and just not sure where to begin? If you answered yes to any of the above, consider trying FitNation's newest class, "Gentle Supported Yoga"!
Gentle Supported Yoga, led by Group Exercise Instructor Amy Cusack, is a 45-minute class that includes all of the typical equipment found in a yoga class, such as blocks, straps, and mats, but with the added benefit of a chair for support. Through slower paced standing postures, twists, forward folds, and hip openers, attendees are able to experience the improved balance and flexibility of yoga without having to get up and down on a mat. This makes the class great for all mobility and skill levels!
Gentle Supported Yoga was designed to not only be a class for persons of all ranges of ability, but also those with wrist, shoulder, or knee issues. "It's a great class for those just starting out, our active older adult members who don't want to be on the ground, as well as for advanced members who may be suffering from an injury and can't get up and down," shared FitNation Group Exercise Coordinator, Elizabeth Sulzener. "Each participant has the ability to take the moves to their personal comfort level." With the added ambience of a candle-lit glow, attendees of all ages and comfort levels can slow down, relax, and enjoy the benefits of yoga in a soothing new manner.
