FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Gurnee Park Board Election Petitions Now Available

(Gurnee, IL) Thursday October 6, 2022 - Gurnee Park District (GPD). Two seats on the five-member Gurnee Park District Board of Commissioners will be filled at the April 4, 2023 consolidated election.These seats are currently held by Michelle Klemz and Gerry Crews. Each term of office is four years.In order to serve, an individual must be a registered voter and a Gurnee Park District resident for at least one year prior to Election Day. Park Board positions are nonpartisan and unpaid. Candidate materials are available and may be picked up at the Viking Park administrative office at 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.Park District office hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Nominating petitions may be circulated beginning September 20, 2022. A minimum of 99 registered voters' signatures are required in order to be placed on the ballot. The petition filing period for the April election is Monday, December 12, 2022 beginning at 9:00 am through Monday, December 19, 2022 at 4:00 pm in the Park District office, 4374 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee.
