Gurnee Park District's Youth Basketball Leagues

Basketball will look a little different this season. Here's a few ways we're keeping safety top of mind … just like the pros!

Youth Basketball League Rosters and Teams

Similar to previous seasons, teams will be divided by grade level. Our Junior Dribblers league is co-ed for athletes in first grade and second grade. Youth Basketball Leagues for third grade through eighth grade athletes will be divided by grade level and gender. The youth basketball league for third through eighth grade will have a maximum of 12 players on each team. Additional players will not be added once a team roster is set.

Not necessarily a "bubble" per say, but we're limiting our locations. All games and practices will be held at Hunt Club Park Community Center (920 N. Hunt Club Road). Hunt Club Park Community Center remains temporarily closed to the public and is only used for Gurnee Park District programming.

We are keeping our athletes, parents, fans and coaches safe. In order to do so, spectators will not be allowed in the building. Drop off will be curbside in front of Hunt Club Park Community Center.

Now more than ever, safety continues to be a top priority. Here are a few additional safety protocols for the 2020-2021 youth basketball season.

  • Face coverings are required at all times for coaches and players
  • No spectators will be allowed
  • Drop off will be curbside
  • All equipment will be disinfected between games, practices and scrimmages
  • Team will only practice and scrimmage within their group
  • Games will be held at one location, Hunt Club Park Community Center

Special thanks to our volunteer coaches who make the youth basketball league possible. If you're interested in coaching, Perspective volunteer basketball coaches must complete a coaching application, the volunteer coach code of conduct form and volunteer coach background check form. Once completed, please email to Chris Marzano, Youth Athletics Supervisor.

All forms can be found on the youth basketball league page of our website.
