Spring is on its way, and what a great time of year it is here at Gurnee Park District! With the arrival of spring comes an unmistakable sense of excitement and energy, making it the perfect time to get outside, recharge, and spring forward!

On those warm, sunny spring days, make sure to visit one of our 28 parks! Our parks are each unique in what they provide to our residents. For instance, we offer Garden Plots at O'Plaine Park for our gardening community, spring soccer leagues at Hunt Club Park and Viking Park for our young, aspiring athletes, as well as many mud-free playgrounds for families to safely visit during the spring thaw.

In addition, you can also find outdoor pickleball courts located at Betty Russell Park, Christine Thompson Park, Hunt Club Park, O'Plaine Park, and Viking Park. Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, and it is a great activity for all ages and skill levels. We are thrilled to provide these outdoor spaces for not only recreational use, but also summer leagues and lessons for our community members to enjoy and learn more about the sport. Prepare for our outdoor summer leagues by registering for Adult Pickleball lessons at FitNation! Grab your friends and take a swing today!

As those first signs of spring allow us to escape back into nature, try joining our FREE GO Gurnee Walking Club! Our Walking Club meets every Saturday at 9:00am to walk various trails within and surrounding the Gurnee community. Walking with the GO Gurnee Walking Club is a great way to get outside, meet new friends, and stay active!

Staying active in the spring is easy to do when the weather is nice, but what about those days where the spring rains keep us indoors? Visit FitNation! FitNation offers everything you need to keep an active lifestyle, no matter the weather. With daily rates and/or monthly memberships, FitNation makes it easy to stay focused on your health and wellness not only this spring, but also year round!

We all know that after spring comes summer. With that said, don't forget to make your summer preparations! Our Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center is the perfect place to be on those hot summer days, which will be here before we know it. Make sure to purchase your family's season passes soon - from now until March 31, season passes will be on sale at our lowest prices of the season!

You can also prepare for summer by reserving your spot in our summer camps! Our camps include flexible options to fit every families schedule, as well as field trips, cookouts, weekly special events, swimming at the Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center, and, of course, lots of fun and memories!

Speaking of memories, we are excited to once again host our outdoor egg hunt, affectionately titled, "Bunny Bash," on Saturday, April 9th at Viking Park. Families can plan on our traditional egg hunt, as well as crafts, games, and more!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable spring season. I am eager to get outside and see you all at our Gurnee Park District parks, facilities, and events!
