GURNEE DAYS PARADE INFORMATION
The 2023 Gurnee Days Parade will be held on Sunday, August 13 at noon! See below for route and theme information, as well as how YOU can be a part of the parade!
Theme
The 2023 Gurnee Days theme is "50 Years of Gurnee Days." Businesses and organizations - use your creativity to come up with a float entry that celebrates the theme!
Route
The parade route begins at N. Greenleaf Street, continues west on Old Grand Avenue, and ends at Emerald Avenue.

2023 Gurnee Days Parade Application
Entry Types
Typical parade entry types include:
- Floats
- Vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, bikes)
- Marching Groups (bands, choirs, cheerleading, veterans groups)
- Walking Units (school groups, clubs, political groups, etc.)
ALL units are restricted to one vehicle or one vehicle with a trailer. Any exceptions must be requested as part of the application and are subject to approval by Gurnee Park District.
Entry Fees
All parade entries are required to pay an entry fee.
$25 - Non-Profit Organizations (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Local Area Queens, etc.)
$50 - Village of Gurnee Resident or Business/D121
$75 - Non-Village of Gurnee Resident or Business/Non-D121
$200 - Political Entries
Parade Acceptance
Upon approval of your application, the Gurnee Park District will contact you with a confirmation e-mail and payment details. Additionally, parade lineup and other instructions regarding staging, drop off areas, and pick-up areas will be provided in late July. Please note: parade applications will be reviewed once a week, beginning the week of June 1st. You will be notified accordingly.

Terms and Conditions
- All units will be inspected the day of the parade by Gurnee Days Officials for theme, safety, security, and any conflicts with Village of Gurnee/Gurnee Park District laws/ordinances. Any parade unit deemed unsafe, non-themed, inappropriate, or considered a security concern will be required to immediately make an adjustment to the unit, otherwise your unit will be removed from participation.
- The parade line up will be at the intersection of the Delaney and Grandville Roads. All parade participants are asked to be respectful and show refrain from sitting on the front yards. Parade participants will need to pick up after themselves and not leave any garbage behind.
- The parade will begin at noon. You will be instructed by parade officials when and where your group will merge with the parade.
- The name of your entry/business/organization must be displayed on your unit.
- For safety reasons, throwing candy and/or items from vehicles or floats is not allowed. However, individuals can walk near the float and throw candy to people. Walkers should not stall the pace of the parade.
- All handouts/flyers must be approved by the Gurnee Park District
- All parade entries must have an adult 18 or over present at all times
- The driver of a vehicular entry must by at least 18 years of age with a valid license and insurance
