CARE and Restore Illinois 

We're excited to welcome students back for the 2020-2021 school year. Gurnee Park District is accepting limited registration (50 participants) for the before/after school program. Registration will close on August 23.

There are two, full-day program time options, part-time CARE is not available at this time. Staff will help children log on to their Remote Learning requirements and supervise as they do their Remote Learning. Staff will not be able to spend one on one time assisting with Remote Learning assignments. Children will need to be able to work independently. Additional program details, including safety policies can be found below. 

Currently, CARE is accepting registration for D50 students only. Details about District 56 will be shared soon.

Remote Learning CARE Program

Two options are available for District 50. Details regarding District 56 are coming soon. 

District 50

CARE is available for District 50 Kindergarten-5th grade. This recreation program is relaxed and designed to counter-balance the day's remote learning activities. Children will have time to work on remote learning as well as participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Children will have time for snack and lunch (both brought from home) as well as time to "stretch our legs." 

Here are additional details of what CARE will look like in Phase 4 of Restore Illinois:

Parents will be asked to do self-checks prior to drop off each morning. Curb side drop off and pick up will take place. Parents will stay in their vehicle for sign in/sign out.
15 children per designated group. Groups are based upon grade level. Staff will assist with remote learning. However, will not be able to spend one on one time assisting with remote learning assignments.
Please bring all materials for remote learning from home, including a container to keep them in. Breaks and time to stretch between remote learning will be given.
Children must be able to follow safety instructions. Children will be asked to wear a mask, follow social distancing guidelines and wash hands regularly.
All toys and equipment will be sanitized after use. Lunch, snacks and water bottle must be brought from home.

District 56

Supply List: Remote Learning Program

With the current situation, we ask that majority of materials are brought from home for remote learning. 

What to bring to Remote Learning CARE

  • Face covering or mask 
  • All materials for remote learning: chrome book, ipad, headphones, pens/pencils, any additional supplies needed 
  • Container/bag or storage for all remote learning items 
  • Snack
  • Lunch 
  • Water bottle 
  • Appropriate outerwear, as some activities may be held outside

Days Off School 

Are you looking for something for your child to do on the next day off? Let us take care of the planning. Children will be required to wear a face covering. Registration closes one week prior to the program date. Days Off School days wil include fun, themed activities and take place at the Hunt Club Park Community Center. Parents/guardians can drop off anytime after 7:30 am. Pick up is available until 5:30 pm.

  • Water bottle 
  • Appropiate outerwear, as some activities may be held outside 
  • Athletic/gym shoes

 Payment Policy

All CARE payments will be set up via auto-pay. When registering, a minimum of one month's payment is due at the time of registration. All other payments for the full-day program will be billed bi-monthly on the 1st and 15th of each month. If you cancel prior to the school year starting, you may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. 

Refund Policy

If you cancel prior to the start of the program you may be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. 

Once the program has started, prorated fees will not be given for partial month's attendance or withdrawal.
